Your Own Boat Race (ByOB)
This years race was postponed by high water levels on the Arkansas River. We don't run the race if
the water level is above 3,000 cubic feet per second. On June 27th at 5 pm the water level was at 3,400 c.f.s.
For safety reasons the ByOB Race was moved to Saturday July 18th. Boats will check in at 5:00 pm at the Centennial Park
boat ramp, followed by the safety talk, and the race will start around 5:30. Raft Masters will provide helmets and life
jackets for all participants, or you may use your own if you have them.
If you would like to get a team in you are more than welcome
to. The Recreatiion District will except registrations up to 5 pm on Friday, July 17th at the office or by 5 pm on July
18th at the Centennial Park boat ramp. Get your team signed up today for the ByOB Race. Awards will be handed
out after the race at Whitewater Bar and Grill at the top of Eight Mile Hill by the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park turnoff.
The awards will be handed out between 7:30 and 8 pm, so come on out and have a good time with us.
